We’ve edited our list of amazing local day camps with some new programs, both virtual and in person! We also want to highlight our amazing camp partners that we will wait to see next year instead. Our summer camp is situated on a wooded hill adjacent to the beautiful Black River in Pottersville and runs from July 6th – August 20th. Our goal is to provide children with thoughtful multi-sensory, outdoor activities geared toward challenging their physical bodies, opening their hearts and engaging their imaginations. These include play time on our developmentally designed playground, arts and crafts projects, imaginative play experiences, storytelling and more. Healthy organic snacks are served daily. Our philosophy in βReclaiming Childhoodβ is to allow children the opportunity to have experiences like those available in the age before electronics, in which they can be free to fully explore who they are and who they are becoming. For ages 2 1/2 to 6.

The Cottage School Spanish and Art Immersion Summer Program is open to TCS students as well as non-Cottage School students βages 2 to 12 yearsβthroughout the month of June online via Zoom. The day will be divided in two Zoom classes plus a video: Zoom Spanish Class 9:30-10:30 am, (Physical Education Video) & Zoom Art Class 11:30-12:30. Each week will focus on a specific Latin American country where children will be immersed in both the Spanish Language and the arts of that particular country. Teachers speak only in Spanish throughout the day.
Week I (Panama): June 9 – 12 ($180)
Week II (Peru): June 16 – 19 ($180)
Week III (Colombia): June 22- 25 ($180)

In addition to The Spanish and Art Immersion Program, The Cottage School also offers two more programs online: Zumba for Kids and Spanish Enrichment to learn about “El Pueblo” Those schedules can be found below:
Online Zumba for Kids (8:45 – 9:30am)
Zumba will be offered by Juana Guglielmino, an OT who has helped with our TCS Summer programs, and has been a Zumba instructor for eight years!

Online Spanish Language Enrichment (1:00 – 2:00pm)
Students will explore the topic of βEl Puebloβ as we learn how to navigate public spaces through the use of dialogues.

Due to continuing uncertainties related to the COVID-19 pandemic, Delbarton Sports Camps are canceled for 2020. While our sports camps are on hiatus, we are pleased to report that our academic program has been greatly expanded and rebranded as Virtual Delbarton Summer. The Dogwood School Summer Camp is open to children ages 2-6 years and runs from June 29th β August 20th. The Summer Program will focus on fun summer themes with specific goals and objectives for each age group around social/emotional, cognitive, fine and gross motor and language development.

Currently our friends at Goldfish Swim School Denville remain closed, and we will keep you updated for when you can book a Summer Jump Start Clinic!
In addition to weekly swim lessons, Goldfish Swim School Denville also offers Jump Start Clinics during the summer months. This is our version of swim camp! Jump Start Clinics are five consecutive days of 30-minute swim lessons that focus on everything from the fundamentals of water safety to fine-tuning stroke technique. Students make a monthβs worth of progress in just a week!
Jump Start Clinics run from June 8, 2020 through August 24, 2020. Students receive five consecutive days of 30-minute swim lessons. $155 for non members, $130 for members.
The Mendham Kids Club is happy to offer Virtual Summer Camp!
We are kicking things off on June 15th and are planning to operate virtually until July 3rd at this time, with more dates to possibly be added.

THIS SUMMER, CHILDREN NEED CAMP MORE THAN EVER!
We want you to know that we are still planning for a fun camp this summer and we will be following the recommendations of our Governor and local health officials as decisions are made. The Randolph YMCA is working with the YMCA of the USA, American Camp Association, and the CDC to determine best practice guidelines for camp operations and expect that things will look very different this summer, particularly in health safety and social distancing practices.
Children all over the world are being asked to give up what they deserve: time with caring adult mentors outside of their home to learn new things, grow as people, and be with friends. Staying home from school, sports, and activities is a difficult sacrifice for children to make.

Schiff’s 2020 Summer Nature Program has been postponed until next year. However, Since you can’t come to them, Schiff will get the “Summer Nature Program” to you with Schiff’s “SNP at Home” Kits!
Schiff’s “SNP at Home” Kits are age appropriate hands-on educational materials that allow children to have loads of fun while learning about nature from home. Fun for the whole family, these kits, designed for ages 4-7 or 8-12, offer self guided nature based activities created to engage children’s curiosity and excitement in the outdoors. Kits will vary by “theme” each week, including one fact page, one scavenger hunt, one activitiy, one game, one craft and one nature observation journal. Every exercise in the kit is designed to get children up and moving outside!
Starting Monday, July 6th, and the 3 Mondays to follow (13th, 20th, 27th), kits will be available for curbside pick-up at our Nature Center from 11-1 pm.
