BERNARDS TOWNSHIP: Parks & Recreation Department - MULTIPLE POSITIONS

The BERNARDS TOWNSHIP Parks & Recreation Department is hiring for the following positions:

Assistant Pool Manager – Manages and oversees the day-to-day operation of Pleasant Valley Pool, including maintenance and staff. Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university is required.

Life Guard Supervisor – Responsible for leading a team of Lifeguards to adhere to standards that ensure the life, safety, welfare and enjoyment of Pleasant Valley Pool members and guests while inside the facility. Must hold current Lifeguard, CPR and First Aid certification recognized by the State of New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services.

Assistant Site Supervisor for Summer Recreation Program – Ability to oversee all groups of children, assist with the supervision of staff and directly supervise Group Leaders, Group Counselors and Counselors in Training. Must have any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation of high school plus two (2). Must have minimum of two (2) years previous summer program experience and/or strong experience working with children in grades K-5th.

Group Leader for Summer Recreation Program – Provides creative and quality activities to children enrolled in the Summer Recreation Program. Must be 18 years or older. Must have summer program experience and/or strong experience working with children in grades K-5th.

JOB PURPOSE:
To provide maximum value on quality-driven construction services utilizing methods that are customer-focused, cost- effective, safety-perfect, innovation-leveraged, and execution-aggressive within a framework of unquestioned integrity. Must be able to estimate, buyout jobs, perform job scheduling, monitor job costs and manage profitability in line with budget and interface with all levels of management.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
B.S. or B.A. Degree is desirable. Must have computer knowledge, i.e., Microsoft Office. MS Project and Timberline software a plus. Five to ten years of construction experience desired.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Overtime required occasionally. Job requires weekly visits to construction job sites. Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching/working overhead, lifting and carrying plans and project books, climbing stairs and ladders 20’ in height. This position requires standing for extended periods (over one hour) during job site meetings.

Must be able to adequately manage multiple small scope projects, multitask, interface with clients and trade professionals, estimate, buyout jobs, draft and execute project proposals, perform job scheduling, manage multiple Service Reps, monitor job costs, manage profitability in line with budget, prepare Client invoices, manage accounts receivable and payable and interface with all levels of management.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Assistants must have a NJ Cosmetology school permit or license.

Flexible schedule is a must.

Shampoo experience is preferred, but not required for the right candidate.

Assistants help with various tasks that include, and are not limited to:
Front Desk Reception, shampooing, preparing guests for service, blow-drying, sweeping salon floor, cleaning and maintaining salon’s appearance, ensuring guests are comfortable, offering beverages etc.
