Meet Nicole Farina – The Mom Behind GiGi Jeans! | Morris Bernards Moms

Where are you from originally and how long have you lived in town?
I am originally from Roxbury, New Jersey and have been living in Morris county for my whole life!

Child(ren) and Age(s)?
My amazing husband and I have one precious daughter, Giuliana Jo and she just turned 2 in January!

Favorite things to do with your kids?
I love spontaneous trips with my daughter! She is such a fun, loving, brave little girl! My ultimate favorite would be trips to the beach. My close second would be watching her in her little classes like swim lessons, music and gym class! She amazes me every day! I love seeing happiness through children, something so small can make them so happy. We can learn so much from kids and it makes me feel so blessed to be a mother.

Are you involved in a business venture or corporate world? Please Share!
I am a part time art teacher and have always loved working with children. Once I had my own daughter and started making her custom things to wear, I received such positive feedback. My daughter, friends and family helped drive the passion behind Gigi Jeans. I started really small just making jackets for friends and family member’s children. Quickly Gigi Jeans started to grow and I feel so blessed to have my very own small business!

If you could give one tip to fellow Mom Entrepreneurs what would it be?
Believe in yourself! Even when life seems overwhelming or a little crazy, find something to smile about. Our children will always be our number one priority but you are just as important! Find what makes you happy and do it!

One thing people would be surprised to know about you…
When I was 21 my parents blessed me with the best life experience, I studied abroad in Florence, Italy! As an art major, I decided to take a photography class and it was the best experience I ever encountered. I was able to photograph children making art therapy in an orphanage. I worked as an art teacher in Paterson, NJ which changed my whole perspective on not only teaching but life in general. Those ‘students’ were my first ‘kids’. It not only made me grow as an artist but also as a young woman. I build self-confidence, leadership, independence, passion and drive.

How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?
As a new small business owner, I feel so lucky to connect with other moms and creating something special for their little ones! Painting is one of my passions in life but I also love making other people feel special! Moms are mostly my target audience for Gigi Jeans, so this group not only helps me connect on a business level but also a personal level!
