What is more fun for your child than being outside all summer long? Being outside on Mendham’s very own Family owned and operated Farm! Backer Farm, located on Ironia Road offers a 9 week half day Farm Camp for ages 3-7 or 6-9 years old (depending on the week). This drop off program is Monday – Fridays from 9am – 12pm (rain or shine!) and features hands on activities that explore all facets of the farm from animal care, harvesting, gardening to farm chores and more.
Each day there is a new adventure that awaits your child. From animal care and grooming to harvesting and gardening, Backer Farm is teaching children from an early age valuable skills that will last as they grow. They will engage each day in a farm themed craft and games and here at Mendham Moms, we love the farm to table snacks, which are provided, showing our children how our food grows and how to harvest it. Lifelong friendships are built at Farm Camp as your child learns valuable skills through all of these friendship building activities.
All staff, who frequently return year after year, are trained in CPR and First Aid. Backer Farm prides themselves on keeping the camper to staff ratio low so the children can get the most interaction and hands on experience. Each camper will also receive a camp T-Shirt, and Backer Farm offers sibling discounts as well!

Meet the Camp Director:
Heather Backer is a former early elementary school teacher with a masters in education turned Mendham Mom! She lives right on the farm and manages the Farm’s day to day operations in addition to the camp and the fun events the farm does throughout the year. Heather is also a former ABA therapist and CPR/ First Aid Certified, which brings an extra sense of security to any parent sending their child to camp.
